Thom was born, raised and graduated from college in South Dakota and has lived on the Oregon Coast since 1979. Thom had the pleasure of working and serving parents, patients, clients and families in a multitude of ways since then. As a licensed Medical Technologist, Thom has worked in varied medical laboratories for over 20 years, including current part time employment at Curry Health Network. Thom has done social service work in both Coos and Curry counties for over 20 years. Agencies include Belloni Boy’s Ranch where he worked with teen sex offenders and law violators, South Coast Head Start where he was working with parents regarding drug and alcohol education/prevention, parenting and fathering. He also worked with The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians—as their Family Services and Indian Child Welfare Coordinator. Thom has always had a passion for end of life services and enjoys serving on the board of Coastal Home Health & Hospice. Thom desires to bring a vision to Coastal Home Health & Hospice that will ensure continued success, growth and innovation of services to the families of Southern Oregon and Northern California.
